Comparative Language Analysis


Homework Task: Due Monday 31st in class

Practise writing a 5 paragraph (intro, text 1, text 2, text 3, conclusion) comparative language analysis using the 3 texts about banning the burqa



What to include in an introduction:

  • Identify the authors' contentions/purposes

Persuasive Oral Presentations

Prepare for our term 4 topic by completing the following task:
The first page outlines the task and provides a template for you to fill out. The second page is an example I have done to help guide you. My 'issue' is silly, but I expect yours to be something more serious, current, relevant and topical.

If you're really stuck for ideas, choose one from the following list:
  • What should Asutralia do with asylum seekers arriving by boat?
  • Should dangerous dogs be banned?
  • Should same sex marriage be legalised?
  • Should the legal driving age be lowered?
  • Should live exports be banned?
  • Should a helmut be compulsory in all contact sports?
